Zebra Mantis (Omomantis zebrata)
This awesome mantis is a beautiful green color. The zebra mantis (Omomantis zebrata) is a visually striking species native to parts of Africa. It gets its name from the distinctive black-and-white striped pattern on its body, which provides excellent camouflage among grasses and shrubs. This mantis thrives in warm climates with temperatures ranging from 75–85°F (24–29°C) and moderate humidity around 50–70%. In captivity, it requires a well-ventilated enclosure with ample vertical space and plenty of plants or sticks for climbing and hiding. Zebra mantises are moderately sized and active hunters, feeding on a variety of live insects such as fruit flies, roaches, and flies. When this species is an adult, the wing pattern resembles a zebra with stripes! This species is highly cannibalistic and can NOT be kept together. They are FAST and generally do not tolerate being handled much.
Currently feeding on houseflies and/or small red runner roaches. These feeders are NOT readily available at pet stores, so advise to order these in advanced from online feeder shops.
