Everyone wants an orchid mantis! Also widely known as the “King Fu” mantis, this beautiful mantis has become well known thanks to Tik Tok and Instagram. Finding healthy, well bred nymphs is pretty rare in the hobby now days. We have a strong breeding stock that keeps our supply of nymphs in demand. These little nymphs start out mostly white and while most stay white-ish in color, some start to turn pink as they grow and molt. This pink color can NOT be requested and is really just the luck of the draw! After their final molt, most adult females will have a beautiful yellow hue to them, like the photo in this listing. Due to their heat and humidity requirements, I would only recommend this species for experienced keepers. PLEASE do your homework on the care and keeping requirements of this species! It is your responsibility to be knowledgable on this.
There are two varieties of orchid mantises, the Indonesian and the Malaysian. Indonesian orchids are often bigger and more yellow as adults. Adult Malaysian orchids on the other hand are generally smaller and have a lighter and more white coloration.
BEST SELLER! This is my BEST SELLING mantis! They are the best choice for first time keepers! Ghosts are the easiest of all exotic mantises. They are low maintenance but still look exotic! Just a really cool species that mimics a dead leaf. This species is really easy to care for but at the same time it looks like an alien. Ghost mantises are a fascinating species of praying mantis known for their leaf-like appearance, which helps them blend into dry foliage as camouflage. Native to arid regions of Africa and Madagascar, they thrive in warm, moderately humid environments. In captivity, they should be kept in well-ventilated enclosures with temperatures between 75–85°F (24–29°C) and humidity levels around 50–70%. These mantises are relatively small, growing up to 2 inches long, and are generally docile and slow-moving, making them a great beginner species. They prefer a diet of small live insects like fruit flies as nymphs or houseflies as adults. Although, cannibalism can occur, this species is often kept together in captivity.
BEST SELLER! Our second best selling mantis! The spiny flower mantis (Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii) is a stunning and highly ornamental species of praying mantis native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is best known for its vivid green and white coloration, petal-like leg structures, and the striking eyespot on its wings, which it displays as a defensive threat. This species thrives in warm, humid environments, ideally between 75–85°F (24–29°C) with 60–80% humidity. In captivity, they require a well-ventilated, vertically oriented enclosure with plenty of perches and hiding spots. Spiny flower mantises grow up to about 1.5 inches long, and they are agile, visual hunters that feed on fruit flies, houseflies, and other small insects. While they can sometimes be kept communally as nymphs, adults should be housed separately to avoid cannibalism. This mantis is a fun, curious and beautiful species that has an eye spot on its wing once they become adults! As nymphs, they have really cool spikes all over their abdomen. They are a super unique species that are very easy to handle! They also have an interesting little “dance” that they do where they will slowly extend and release their front raptors, back and forth. This species has tons of personality!
Small nymphs eat Hydei fruit flies, are misted daily with bottled water and kept in full mesh enclosures. Adults eat houseflies or red runner roaches.
